Interdisciplinary MA programme

The interdisciplinary Master’s degree programme ‘Public History and Culture’ is designed for students with a university degree in the humanities, cultural studies, or social sciences. It focuses on the public communication and practical application of history and culture.

The programme’s innovative curriculum is structured around three core pillars:

[1]

content analysis, methodological reflection, and the study of how history is represented in public spaces. It examines the forms, strategies, tools, key actors, and institutions involved in historical and cultural mediation;

[2]

an integrated approach of cultural and historical research with questions of digital humanities;

[3]

a significant share of the curriculum consists of practice-oriented and project-based courses, developed in collaboration with museums and other educational institutions. These are complemented by application-focused and career-oriented components.
